Martin Parr

Today I had a lovely day soaking up the sun in Bristol, as part of this I went along to the Martin Parr exhibition currently on show at the top floor of the M-Shed. I would like to heartily recommend that anyone who lives in Bristol or nearby makes an effort to see it before the end of November. Martin Parr is a photographer who fascinates me in his original compositions and the way that he manages to capture life. He is someone who is obviously fascinated by people, as these photos clearly illustrate.

Lucie Sheridan

Today I went to the M-Shed in Bristol which is a recently opened museum concentrating on the stories behind Bristol's people and places. I really liked the spaces and also liked the shop which had a section for local artists. Lucie Sheridan's work stood out to me as bold, vibrant and simple.

Laura Oldfield Ford

The Arnolfini is a place which I like to take a look around every now and again. I will definitely be taking a visit soon as an exhibition of the work of Laura Oldfield Ford is currently on for a month. You can also see posters of her work all around Bristol.

Anne Edmondson is a Bristol based artist whose work comprises of fantastical and dreamlike landscapes. She was another person I saw at the BV Open Studios showing the wide range of talent on display at the event.

I have just got back from the open day at Hamilton House which seemed very busy and was interesting especially to get a look at the artists spaces on the upper floors. I was particularly impressed by the work of Jonathan Farr, his illustrations of cities are incredibly beautiful.

Hamilton House in Bristol is today holding an open day which could be well worth a visit as it is completely free and packed with fun activities. Get down to Stokes Croft before 6pm today to have a look!
